Product Info

NEW! Provide habitat for wildlife and help support the local ecosystem in the northeast United States with this blend of annual and perennial varieties. Shake and sow to plant up to 100 square feet. This seed mix includes up to 18 annual and perennial varieties and can contain the following: black-eyed Susan, eastern columbine, evening primrose, firewheel, gayfeather, golden Alexander, gray goldenrod, lance-leaved coreopsis, New England aster, Ohio spiderwort, partridge pea, penstemon, purple coneflower, rigid goldenrod, showy tick trefoil, smooth aster, spotted Joe Pye weed, wild bergamot, wild blue indigo.

Sow your wildflower patch in early to mid-spring. You can also sow in late fall; however, only the perennial seeds in the mix may establish enough to overwinter and grow the following spring. Perennial varieties in this mix are generally hardy in zones 3-9.

Planting and growing instructions:

  • To prepare the soil: remove all weeds, aerate the soil with a garden fork if compacted, then rake flat.
  • Open the spout of the seed shaker and spread seeds evenly over the area up to 100 square feet.
  • Then press seeds into the soil by walking over the planted area with smooth-soled shoes or by using a board to tamp them down.
  • Water the seeds in gently if the soil is dry, taking care not to dislodge the seeds from the soil.
  • If sowing in spring, continue watering for a few weeks; if sowing in fall you likely will not need to water in spring if there was enough rain or snow over the winter.
  • Weed regularly until plants grow to 12″-18″ tall.
