Seed Ball Kits

Also needed but not included in the kit: a small amount of soil, newspaper, and a baking tray or old box. Each kit makes up to 15 seed balls.

  • Simply mix together the clay-based seed ball mix with one cup of soil from your yard/garden (or potting soil), adding a little water if needed.
  • Roll small portions of the soil mix into one-inch balls, and place them on a tray or in a box lined with newspaper.
  • Then, press seeds into each ball and allow them to dry on the newspaper for 24 to 48 hours away from direct sunlight.
  • When dry, store the seed balls in a paper bag in a cool, dry location until you’re ready to plant (up to one year).
  • To plant, bury each seed ball halfway into the soil in your garden or a container, in a location with moderate to full sun.
  • Keep the soil watered and watch your seeds sprout and grow!

The Wildflower Garden Seed Ball Kit includes China Aster, Coreopsis, Coneflower, Black-Eyed Susan, Bergamot, Cosmos, Milkweed, Sweet William, and Snapdragon seeds to attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The Pizza Garden Seed Ball Kit includes organic basil, cherry tomato, and oregano seeds to grow a garden of Italian-inspired flavors.
